Non-Smoking In Las Vegas?!

Absolutely! As non-smokers ourselves, we are always conscious of the smoky scene that worries folks considering a visit to Vegas. So here's the scoop as we travel around checking out casinos, hotels, and restaurants in our favorite town.

The Good News is ALL restaurants are completely non-smoking now in Las Vegas! And many of the hotels and resorts have gone completely non-smoking as well, providing only outdoor areas for smoking. Notably, the new Vdara at City Center is completely smoke-free, as is the Cosmopolitan, the Signature at MGM Grand, Renaissance Marriott and a few other Marriott properties. Along with this we've discovered that ALMOST every casino has a designated Non-Smoking area for slots and poker as well -- many of these on the Strip but also many off the Strip that we've visited. More and more casinos are offering these Non-Smoking casino play areas and sometimes by request for table play (we think this is particularly cool if you have a group for blackjack or craps!).

While the smoking is still prevalent in many casinos, the awareness and sensitivity levels to non-smoking has grown hugely in the last ten years here, and is definitely notable from years ago. We offer kudos to the casinos and hotels who are looking out for the health of the general public -- while still protecting their "bottom line" (who said that?!). We are seniors, so we can get away with saying "We've come a long way baby"! Our "bottom line": don't be afraid to come to Las Vegas if you're a non-smoker:)

Championships For LV Wranglers!

Our Wranglers start the Kelly Cup Championships Monday hosting the Florida Everblades! Game 1 Monday on Wranglers' home ice at Orleans Arena 7pm -- and Tuesday is Wrangler Day in Las Vegas! Goooo Wranglers!

Dancing With The Stars in Las Vegas !

How cool is this?! All the DANCE Stars from the television series are here at the Tropicana for a few months of fabulous dancing fun! The cast members are spinning live at the newly renovated Tropicana, and what fun to be up close and personal with them all. The Trop is offering many different packages that includes an evening of the Dance Stars; or you can just enjoy the show by itself! Either way, we think it will be delightful -- and the tickets are not outrageous:) It's happening now through July7, so check with the Tropicana for ticket details! Better than television, this is LIVE and in Las Vegas!

So a little change of pace here fellow Boomers and Seniors (!) with some delightful, fun, FREE and definitely HOT Rhythm & Blues in Addison's Lounge at the Rampart Casino this coming Fri - Sat Apr 20 -21.
